Poem in your Pocket Day April 18, 2019

Rebecca Macijeski

As part of the National Poem-in-your-Pocket-Day celebration, some colleagues and I from the Department of English, Foreign Languages, and Cultural Studies distributed poems to students entering Kyser Hall. The event encourages folks to carry a bit of poetry with them wherever they go.

A small tray of poems and plastic eggs containing poems.
Since the event was near Easter, we put some small poems inside plastic eggs.

It may have been raining all day, but that didn't stop us from handing out hundreds of poems throughout the morning. With the weather, and the end of the semester near, it seemed students were extra grateful for their surprise piece of good will.
