The creative writing faculty got together to host a National Novel Writing Month Write-In event in Varnado Hall on campus. About twenty students attended. In five hours we went through five pizzas, ten liters of soda, a whole bunch of snacks and coloring book pages, and wrote tens of thousands of words.
The student who won the word count prize reached 7,477 words! We'll be sure to host another event like this next November.
