This year saw our second annual NSU Summer Creative Writing Camp for local writers aged 10-18. I worked with colleagues Shea Montgomery and Oona Zbitkovskis to offer all kinds of mini-writing sessions on topics ranging from character creation, world building, pairing writing with illustration, poems, collaboration, and the importance of plot and scene.
One of the highlights of camp every year is a visit with University President Dr. Maggio and his wife Jennifer for cookies and to a chance to share our writing.
We're always impressed by how much energy and creativity the kids bring.
